In perhaps the best pairing since beer and brats, the Milwaukee Bucks have hired Gus Johnson, the Fox Sports broadcaster known for covering upsets with inimitable and often incoherent screams and fabulous catchphrases, to broadcast 20 games this season.

“Milwaukee was always one of my favorite places to go when I traveled [as a broadcaster] with the Knicks,” Johnson told SI.com’s Richard Deitsch. “They have a drink there that’s pretty good. It’s called beer.”

Johnson’s main gig is calling college football and basketball for Fox Sports 1, so he isn’t certain yet which games he’ll work for the Bucks, but wherever Johnson goes, exciting finishes often follow. So far, he told Deitsch that this is a one-year thing, but added that, “in my heart of hearts, I hope this is something I get an opportunity to do for a long time.”

Pure, baybee.
