Sunday was a tough day for all members of the Dolphins’ organization, but for some more than others. It’s likely that no one had a worse day than Miko Grimes, the wife of Miami cornerback Brent Grimes.

Before the Dolphins played the Bills — and suffered a 41-14 loss — Miko Grimes was arrested by Miami-Dade police on or near the grounds of Sun Life Stadium. According to the Miami Herald, which cited a police spokesman, she was charged with disorderly conduct, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Mrs. Grimes’s behavior reportedly didn’t tame after officers handcuffed her, though. According to the Sun Sentinel, once she was lifted off the ground where officers had restrained her, she “suddenly jerked her head backward, headbutting an officer.”

At that point, an officer reportedly threatened her with a taser, she temporarily calmed down, but began getting rowdy again while being transported for booking. In the process, her right arm, knee and forearm were injured.

Video of Grimes getting arrested was posted online Sunday (warning: profanity).

Grimes is a local radio host in Miami who has gained attention for her outspoken views. In January, she went on a lengthy tirade, via Twitter, about the NFL and its treatment of her husband.

In July, an article by Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman contained this quote about Grimes from an unnamed NFL official: “She scares the hell out of me.”

It is unclear if Brent Grimes, who has yet to comment on the incident, was aware of his wife’s arrest before Sunday’s game. A Dolphins spokesman said (via the Orlando Sun-Sentinel) that the team was aware of it and would defer questions to the police.
