Memphis Grizzlies swingman Matt Barnes had his very own Temecula moment this weekend when he drove 95 miles to the house he used to share with his estranged wife Gloria Govan to scrap with her alleged new lover, Knicks Coach Derek Fisher, the New York Post reports.

Yahoo Sports later confirmed the report through its own sources, who noted Barnes was in Santa Barbara, Calif., where the Grizzlies held training camp last week, when he heard Fisher was in Los Angeles visiting Govan, a star of the the reality show “Basketball Wives.”

The altercation began in the backyard, where Fisher was hanging out with Govan and other family members, witnesses told Yahoo. The fight then moved into the kitchen before ending in the home’s front room.

NBA security is aware of the incident, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Twitter, but the league only found out on Wednesday.

According to a source who spoke with the New York Post, Fisher and Govan had been seeing each other for “a few months.” Barnes, Yahoo reports, has known about it for about a month. The most complicated relationship in this love triangle, however, might be between Fisher and Barnes, who used to be teammates and friends on the Los Angeles Lakers.

No one was seriously injured in the altercation, according to reports, but Fisher suffered “a few scratches,” witnesses told the New York Post. The witnesses added that Fisher did not press charges after police arrived to the scene. Barnes had reportedly already fled.

Yahoo, however, reports that Fisher, who filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years in March, is still considering taking legal action.

“Personal and private matters are personal and private,” Fisher said (via Basketball Insiders reporter Tommy Beer) at a Wednesday afternoon press conference when asked about the incident. He added he won’t discuss “distractions.”

Barnes has not commented publicly on the matter.

The Grizzlies, however, are aware of the incident and released a statement (via SB Nation) late Wednesday afternoon noting they were “gathering information regarding today’s report involving Matt Barnes.” The team had no further comment.
