You might say that Leonard Fournette is college football’s “Top Gun,” and that attempting to tackle him is “Mission: Impossible.” Or you might just skip the cheesy references to Tom Cruise and note that the actor caused a stir by showing up for Saturday’s LSU-Florida game.

According to Scott Rabalais of Baton Rouge’s Advocate, this was the first time Cruise attended a college football game, and even if he wasn’t there specifically to see Fournette, LSU’s star running back and Heisman hopeful, he was seated in the suite of Tigers Athletic Director Joe Alleva. That suite is next to the press box, causing all sorts of distractions for various folks charged with covering the game.

At least one reporter had a much more intimate moment with the Hollywood superstar.

Cruise is in New Orleans to film a sequel to 2012’s “Jack Reacher,” so he wasn’t far from Baton Rouge. If this was, indeed, his first college football game, he caught a classic, as No. 6 LSU fended off No. 8 Florida, 35-28, with the help of a fourth-quarter touchdown off a fake field goal.
