Had that jury trial proceeded, much of the evidence uncovered by Deadspin would have come to light, including this exchange between Holder and Detective Faye Strother:
The incident in question happened after Hardy, Holder and a number of other people had a night on the town. Alcohol was consumed, in mass quantities. Holder also told police that Hardy had assaulted her in the past but didn’t report it because “he terrifies me,” according to another portion of the interview with Strother that Deadspin uncovered.
This week, the charges against Hardy were officially expunged. After missing all but one game of the 2014 season and the first four games of the 2015 season while serving his NFL punishment, he’ll start for the Cowboys on Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has called him “one of the real leaders on this team.”
