Stephen A. Smith has changed his tune about Greg Hardy.

Now, after seeing photos of the woman who was left badly bruised by the Dallas Cowboys players, he believes the defensive end should be cut immediately, a switch from his Oct. 27 tweet that “I completely support Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys having Greg Hardy on the team.”

On Sunday, his opinion had spun 180 degrees after seeing Deadspin’s story and photos.

“What we’re talking about here is a guy who doesn’t deserve to be on an NFL roster. He needs to just be cut immediately. Let’s just be clear and I don’t want to be a hypocrite here because, again, we live in a very visual society and I’m a victim of that from the perspective of when I saw those pictures for the first time Friday, I said ‘My God, why is this guy in the NFL?'”

He went on to say that players have come back from domestic violence incidents before, so why shouldn’t the Cowboys sign him? But then he saw the photos of the bruised body of Nicole Holder. Moderator Hannah Storm, to her credit, asked him if he’d read the police report and Smith admitted he had. Storm tried to hold him to that, but he returned to the topic of the “impactful” photos.

Never mind that the details of Holder’s injuries have been out for months. As with Ray Rice, seeing is believing.
