Lindsey Vonn has probably heard of the expression, “Let sleeping dogs lie.” Now she has one to pass along to others: “When a pair of dogs are battling over a Frisbee, don’t get in the way.”

Okay, that expression isn’t quite as succinct, but it constitutes advice the skiing star may heed going forward, given the accident that befell her recently. Saturday, Vonn posted video of herself getting stitches on her right thumb, the result of an attempt to get her dogs to calm down while playing with the toy.

Vonn’s reference to Jimmy Fallon stems from the injuries the “Tonight Show” host suffered to both of his hands in separate incidents earlier this year. Fallon jokingly responded to Vonn on Twitter.

The thumb wound adds to a lengthy history of injuries suffered by Vonn, who has already missed the start of World Cup season while recovering from a broken left ankle. Her finger was stitched up by a U.S. ski team physician, and on Sunday, Vonn tweeted, “Dog bite is fine,” while posting footage of herself in training.

Dog bite is fine 😄👍🏻 (snapchat: @lindseyvonnski)
