Although the International Business Times reported Saturday that hackers connected to the group Anonymous had uncovered a list of targets, including the WWE pay-per-view, Anonymous called it a rumor on Twitter.
The IBT reported that the FBI had said in a statement it was aware of an alleged threat by the Islamic State group to stage an attack on a WWE event Sunday in Atlanta. But FBI Special Agent in Charge J. Britt Johnson of the Atlanta office said the bureau did not have “specific or credible information of an attack.”
Security at NFL games has been increased in the nine days since the Paris terrorist attacks. One of the targets for those attacks was a stadium at which France and Germany were playing a soccer game.
