The three finalists for the Heisman Trophy were announced Monday, and while it’s fair and proper for their achievements to be extolled and arguments to be made about who should win, we have until Saturday to do all that. No, today is all about venting anger over the appalling snubs of various other players, so let the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments begin.

Well, first, we probably should specify the lucky trio of non-snubs. That would be (in alphabetical order) Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, Alabama running back Derrick Henry and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Congratulations to those guys, but what the hey, amirite? What about that guy (from a team I happen to root for), or that guy (who I saw on TV a lot)? Yes, the Internet was full of outrage over players who won’t be looking uncomfortable in a suit Saturday night at New York’s Downtown Athletic Club. Players such as …

Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma

Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State

Keenan Reynolds, QB, Navy

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU

Of course, there were many other players whose omission from the Heisman finalists caused their fans to complain vociferously. Oh, wait, are those players actually going to be left out of this post? #SNUBBED.
