With the Golden State Warriors in possession of a 2-1 series lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, we have a series on our hands. Sports on Earth put together a map prior to the start of the series filling in a map of the United States based on whether a state was pro-Warriors or pro-Cavaliers depending on each team’s social media following in a state.

SportsBettingExperts.com has put together a survey of its own, polling over 10,000 NBA fans — 200 in each state — to find out who they were pulling for to raise the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Twenty-seven states voted in favor of Golden State while the remaining 23 hope to see LeBron James and Co. bring Cleveland its first professional sports championship since 1964.

Among the top reason for wanting the Warriors to win, according to sportsbettingexperts.com, is to add meaning to their record-breaking regular season. As for the Cavs? Well, it’s because people feel bad for Cleveland and its unprecedented failure in bringing a championship to the city.

As for who is the “face of the NBA,” the results weren’t very close.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals continues in Cleveland as Golden State tries to hang onto their 2-1 lead in the series.
