With Obama vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., the noted golf enthusiast has been hitting the links at a local club, Farm Neck. On Sunday, Paul was his partner for what The Hill reported was Obama’s 300th round while in office. The president has also hit the links with the likes of Ray Allen and Alonzo Mourning.
On Monday, Curry’s father Dell, a former NBA star in his own right, joined the two-time league MVP and Obama at Farm Neck. It was a rematch of sorts for the Warriors’ guard and the president, who played a round at the same course last year. It remains to been if Obama once again engaged in “talking trash,” as Curry said of POTUS to Jimmy Kimmel in 2015.
Meanwhile, Curry’s Golden State teammates down in Rio — you know, Kevin Durant and a couple of other guys — have not been missing him or Paul in the early going, as expected. Team USA trounced Venezuela on Monday, 113-69, this after crushing China, 119-62, in its first preliminary-round game. It’s likely that those guys would be able to fit in some golf, too, if they so chose.
