During an appearance on the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in March, Biles giggled when asked about Efron, best known for his role in the “High School Musical” trilogy. In a recent interview with NBC’s Stephanie Gosk, Biles revealed that she has a life-size cardboard cutout of the 28-year-old actor in her bedroom at home.
“Sometimes I used to … I used to kiss him on the cheek,” Biles said.
On Tuesday, Biles finally got the chance to meet the real Efron, or should we say that Efron finally got the chance to meet Biles? Biles documented the surprise encounter on social media, providing evidence that she exchanged kisses on the cheek with her crush.
Hoda Kotb of “The Today Show” arranged the meeting and NBC will air behind-the-scenes footage of Efron’s surprise visit on Wednesday’s show. Efron has been a Biles fan since at least the U.S. women’s gymnastics Olympic Trials, when he wished the 19-year-old good luck. He tweeted additional words of encouragement during the Olympics.
It’s a good thing the gymnastic’s competition is over for these Games, as Biles was in no condition to balance on a four-inch wide beam after Tuesday’s kiss.
