“How would you respond,” he was asked, “if your kids heard Donald Trump’s version of locker room talk?”
Brady responded with a smile and a breezy, “Thank you, guys, and have a good day” as he walked off the podium.
During his weekly “Kirk and Callahan” show appearance on WEEI Radio, Kirk Minihane asked him if he had spoken with his friend during the four weeks he was serving his Deflategate suspension. Brady tried deflecting that, too.
“This is the quarterback question of the week?” he asked.
So Minihane pressed him again for an answer. “I don’t think so. I don’t think so,” he replied. “I’ve been just trying to get ready and prepared and so forth.”
Last December he said of Trump: “I support all my friends in everything they do. I think it’s pretty remarkable what he’s achieved in his life. You’re going from business, kind of an incredible businessman and then a TV star, and then getting into politics. It’s a pretty different career path. I think that is pretty remarkable.”
Earlier in the 2015 season, he was asked if he thought Trump had a chance to be elected and he tossed a little joke into his answer. “I hope so,” he said then. “That would be great. There’d be a putting green on the White House lawn, I know that.”
