Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson may or may nor be engaged to Khloe Kardashian, but there’s no doubt that the two are heavily involved. That might not be sitting well with one of Thompson’s teammates, one LeBron James, who could be opposed to the reality-TV superstar bringing unnecessary drama to the team.

The gossip website Hollywood Life went so far Friday as to report that James and Thompson had an argument over Kardashian before Cleveland’s season-opening game at home Tuesday. The website cited an anonymous source, described as an “insider,” who said, “Tristan isn’t taking any crap from his teammates anymore. As far as he’s concerned, Khloe’s coming to every damn game she chooses.”

As the defending NBA champions, not to mention a team that features the league’s biggest star in James, the Cavs have plenty of media interest to deal with as it is, without the circus that follows Kardashians everywhere. James, who been vocal about wanting to challenge the greatest-ever legacy of Michael Jordan, wants to add to his three NBA titles, and the four-time MVP has taken on such a parental presence in his locker room that he has even tut-tutted teammates for being sloppy with their laundry. From a September Hollywood Life post (by all means, take this with as many grains of salt as you desire):

“LeBron is not going to take any nonsense and if Tristan starts focusing on being on TV and being a celebrity while dating Khloe, then that is where the problems will come. LeBron wants everyone to be ready to repeat as champs and bring another title to Cleveland!” our insider adds.
The 31-year-old team captain probably wants to make sure that Tristan avoids the alleged “Kardashian Kurse” when it comes to basketball players. After Lamar Odom, 36, married Khloe in 2009 he had a couple of decent seasons with the Lakers before being traded to Dallas then the LA Clippers as his career flamed out. Khloe then went on to date a red-hot James Harden, 26, whose Houston Rockets then had a nosedive of a season, finishing eighth in their conference in 2016 as opposed to second place before he started seeing her.

Kardashian was also linked to Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this year, and for what it’s worth, the Giants’ star wide receiver has gotten off to a relatively slow start this season. Thompson, who began dating Kardashian about two months ago, has denied reports that he is engaged to her and that their relationship will involve specific TV coverage.

However, Thompson reportedly wants the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star to attend Cavs games, never more so than after the opening-night win over the Knicks.  “Tristan told LeBron that Khloe is his good-luck charm and that if they lost [that game], then he’d consider asking her not to come in the future,” Hollywood Life’s source said.

“They obviously won, and after the game, Tristan had an I-told-you-so moment with LeBron,” the source added. Kardashian had her own moment, posting to Instagram a photo of a companion piece — on her ring finger — to Thompson’s massive hunk of championship bling.
