Westbrook put up 51 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, but his piece de resistance might have been the driving layup and his last-minute free throws that earned the team a 113-110 overtime victory over the Suns. These little kids with court-side seats sure liked it.
When asked how he felt about getting the first 50-point triple-double since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975, Westbrook smiled again.
“It’s a blessing, man. I’m just truly blessed to be playing the game I love every night and leave it on the floor. I’m thankful to play the game with my teammates.”
This was Westbrook’s 38th career triple-double.
