The touring production of “Hamilton” currently is on an extended run in Chicago, and the cast tailored its curtain call Thursday night to current events, namely the Cubs’ World Series title. Here they are singing “Go Cubs Go.”

The Cubs and “Hamilton” now seem to have a mutual-admiration society going.

But back to the song: As noted by Billboard, “Go Cubs Go” has become something of a streaming sensation over the past few weeks. Steve Goodman’s song, originally released in 1984, received 1.19 million on-demand streams (audio and video combined) in the tracking week ending Oct. 27, according to Nielsen Music — a 412-percent increase from the week before. It also was downloaded 7,000 times that week, a 292-percent increase over the week before, and debuted on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart at No. 22 and on the LyricFind U.S. chart, which tracks momentum in search-engine queries, at No. 8.
