Derek Fisher left his Los Angeles house at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning. When he returned three hours later, he discovered that more than $300,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen, including the five NBA championship rings he won with the Lakers.

TMZ has details of the burglary via its law-enforcement sources, who say someone entered through the side door of Fisher’s house and swiped the jewelry. The LAPD investigation continues.

Whoever took the rings will have the darndest time trying to fence them. At least one of them — given to the Lakers for their 2009 title — is highly personalized, at least according to a Sports Illustrated gallery where I found this photo.

Another of them, for the 2000 title, isn’t at all dated with the “Bling Bling” on the side.

Fisher is doing TV work for the Lakers’ cable-TV affiliate after his highly unsuccessful run as coach of the New York Knicks ended midway through the 2015-16 season.
