Illinois State is something of an FCS powerhouse, having made the championship game in 2014 and the playoffs the last two seasons, but even FCS powerhouses struggle to get much attention on National Signing Day, at least until they sign a player named Kobe Buffalomeat.

According to an October story in the Lawrence Journal-World, Buffalomeat played high school football for the first time in three years this past season, mostly focusing on basketball.
“I kind of picked up where I left off,” he said. “I didn’t forget too many things. Just the fine adjustments you have to make to the steps and stuff.”
Jordan Peele, of “Key & Peele” funny football names fame, has noticed.
Buffalomeat seems to be having a whole lot of fun with his newfound notoriety.
