President Trump and his wife were hosting a swell Super Bowl party at Trump’s Palm Beach golf club Sunday night, and for three quarters, things looked pretty dismal for his favorite team, the New England Patriots.

Trump, who picked the Patriots to win by eight points, left the Trump International Golf Club at 8:57 p.m., according to the report by pool reporters covering the event.

Trump’s departure — who can blame him? — came just after the Atlanta Falcons had taken a 28-3 lead, meaning he missed the New England touchdown that cut the margin to 19 points just a few minutes later. He appears to have turned on the TV the moment he got back to Mar-a-Lago because he tweeted shortly after 10:30.
