On Saturday night, Jordan Mathews will try to help Gonzaga get over the Elite Eight hump for the first time in program history. He’s been practicing for this role since he was 3, and we know this because he was on “Teletubbies” as a wee one.

The clip shows young Jordan playing with his father Phil, who was then the head coach at the University of San Francisco.

“It’s going to be weird going back,” Matthews told the Spokesman-Review in January. “It’s on YouTube. Look up Teletubbies basketball and it’s there. My mom watches it all the time.”

Mathews’s late three-pointer was the difference for Gonzaga in its Sweet 16 win over West Virginia on Thursday night. It was just another clutch performance in front of the cameras. He’s had lots of practice.
