Everyone already assumed this would be the case, but San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich confirmed the news Saturday: Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is a go for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs will have their hands full with the Warriors’ offense in conference finals

Leonard sprained his left ankle in Game 5 of San Antonio’s second-round series against the Rockets and didn’t play in that game’s overtime period. He then sat out Game 6 but was hardly needed, as the Spurs romped to a 39-point, series-clinching win.

San Antonio will need the two-time defending NBA player of the year against a Warriors team that has won by less than 10 points just once in eight games this postseason, and that came in the first round against Portland. Here’s Popovich’s strategy for stopping Golden State’s offense, which he revealed to reporters on Saturday:

“Pray.”
