Some thought the post might have been a hoax, as she included the hashtag “#bowwowchallenge,” which connotes an intentionally misleading photo, but Cromartie confirmed to TMZ Sports that she is indeed pregnant. She has another child from a previous relationship, giving her six in all, and given her husband’s status as an active stepfather, effectively raising his total to 14.
Antonio Cromartie, 33, reportedly had eight children with seven women before marrying Terricka, and in 2010, he provided one of the most famous moments in the history of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” when he struggled to remember the names of all his kids. After his wife informed him that he was having twins, despite the vasectomy, she said that he could hardly believe it.
“Originally, he was like, ‘Oh, s—t! Are you serious? How did this happen?’ It was shocking news for the both of us,” she said last year to Us Weekly. Cromartie added, “I didn’t even tell Antonio right away because I didn’t think it was possible. I was going back and forth in my head how it could even happen.
“In my head we were good to go, we were having free sex! I just really thought that his procedure was the best protection you could have at this point.”
According to the National Institutes of Health, only 15 to 20 out of 10,000 couples will experience a pregnancy after a vasectomy, making the procedure much more effective than using condoms or birth-control pills. It can take up to three months for all of the unblocked sperm to clear, and longer for some patients. In some cases, the vas deferentia, which are closed off in vasectomies, manage to reconnect.
A first-round pick by the Chargers in the 2006 draft, Cromartie played four games for the Colts last season. He has also played for the Jets and Cardinals.
