Florida played at Missouri on Saturday, the Gators’ first game under interim coach Randy Shannon after Jim McElwain was fired last weekend. Let’s check in with the school’s official athletics Twitter account to see how things are going:
The “Naked Gun” reference was apt, as the Tigers cruised to a 45-16 win. Missouri entered the game 3-5 and was averaging 18.4 points per game against Power Five competition; the Tigers eclipsed that mark in the second quarter Saturday and didn’t look back.
According to ESPN’s telecast, Florida’s locker room remains a mess even with McElwain gone:
ESPN sideline reporter says Feleipe Franks went to interim coach Randy Shannon to say he was upset and that he’s better than Malik Zaire

Zaire started Saturday’s game and completed 13 of 19 passes for 158 yards, also throwing an interception. Franks also saw action and threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Neither made much of a difference.
Missouri’s fans are taking things in stride, based on this tweet from the school’s police department:
No, taking off your clothes and urinating in a parking lot on gameday is NOT legal. pic.twitter.com/MQ0neCDXEd
