With the World Cup fast approaching, national teams are starting to roll out their rosters for the big tournament in Russia. FIFA has set a June 4 deadline for teams to submit their final squads, so these should be considered provisional until then. This list will be updated as the rosters are announced. (If a team isn’t listed, it has yet to reveal its roster).

Main takeaways:

  • Alvaro Morata and Marcos Alonso were left off Spain’s roster. Andres Iniesta and captain Sergio Ramos both will be making their fourth appearance at the World Cup.
  • Radja Nainggolan is quitting international football after Belgium left him off its 28-man squad. Nainggolan helped lead Roma to the Champions League semifinals.
  • Dimitri Payet, Anthony Martial and Alexandre Lacazette will not be on France’s 23-man squad.
  • Ruben Neves, Renato Sanches and Nani will not be on Portugal’s 23-man squad. Nani and Neves were on Portugal’s preliminary squad.
  • Joe Hart and Jack Wilshere will not be on England’s 23-man squad. Hart was England’s first-choice goalkeeper in the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016. Wilshere, a midfielder, also played on the Euro 2016 squad.
  • Mario Gotze is not on Germany’s preliminary squad. Gotze scored the winning goal of the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina.
  • Argentina did not select Carlos Tevez, who last played for his country in 2015. Tevez said he “will watch the World Cup on TV.”
  • Rafael Marquez was included in Mexico’s preliminary squad. The 39-year-old defender is trying to appear in his fifth World Cup.
  • Brazil’s Dani Alves, France’s Laurent Koscielny and England’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the tournament with injuries.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimović was not included in Sweden’s 23-man squad. Ibrahimović had hinted at a return to the national team after retiring from international football following Sweden’s defeat in Euro 2016.
  • Neymar is on Brazil’s 23-man roster, despite having not played since February because of an ankle injury.
