The Government Accountability Office on Monday launched a new online database in an effort to make the agency’s reports easier to find and access.
The GAO “Key Issues” website contains more than 50 specific issue areas ranging from food safety and medical-product oversight to disaster management and reforming the U.S. financial system.
Each area highlights notable GAO reports and additional content that includes podcasts, videos and contact information for the agency’s relevant experts.
Users can browse by topic, federal agencies or collections, which are special bodies of work.
“Following each election cycle, GAO provides information resources for the incoming Congress,” said Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and head of GAO. “This new section of our website is intended to provide members and their staff, as well as the public, with a good overview of key policy issues across government. Our intent is to help make the transition to the 113th Congress as informed and smooth as possible.”
