The House Committee on Veterans Affairs has scheduled a hearing for Monday to hear testimony from official watchdog agencies about the Department of Veterans Affairs’ scheduling scandal.
The hearing will examine last week’s interim report from the inspector general’s office that confirmed recent allegations of inappropriate scheduling practices that hid treatment delays and improved performance ratings at VA hospitals nationwide.
Lawmakers will also discuss the GAO’s work over the years in examining the VA’s treatment delays and scheduling practices, as well as findings from the VA’s internal investigation, which reached similar conclusions to the inspector general’s report.
