The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday that they have officially placed
linebacker Brian Orakpo and defensive end Adam Carriker on injured
reserve, ending their seasons.

The team also announced that it has promoted defensive end Doug
Worthington from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, a move
coach Mike Shanahan forecast Monday.

The Redskins also made official the signing of linebacker Markus
White, whom they released early this month.

The Redskins used Worthington’s spot on the practice squad to sign
defensive lineman Dominique Hamilton, a Missouri product who had spent
time with the Raiders this preseason.

Orakpo and Carriker were both lost for the season Sunday, Orakpo
with a torn left pectoral muscle and Carriker with a torn quad
ligament near the base of his right knee.
