Cornerback Josh Wilson has been cleared medically after he suffered a concussion during the Washington Redskins’ loss last Sunday in St. Louis, Coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday.
Wilson participated in Wednesday’s practice on a limited basis, according to Shanahan.
Shanahan said that wide receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Brandon Meriweather also were limited participants in Wednesday’s practice.
Garcon was on the inactive list for last Sunday’s game because of a foot injury suffered in the season opener. Meriweather has missed two games because of a knee injury.
Shanahan said that tight end Fred Davis is “fine” after absorbing a hit to the head late in the game in St. Louis.
After rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III said moments earlier Wednesday that the game against the Rams was unprofessionally played, Shanahan said: “I thought the officials did not control the game…There wasn’t any control in that game.”
Shanahan said both Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson will receive playing time this weekend at outside linebacker in place of Brian Orakpo, who was placed on the injured reserve list because of a torn pectoral muscle.
The team’s security staff will take a look at the threats made on Twitter against wide receiver Josh Morgan after his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty at a critical moment late in last Sunday’s game, Shanahan said.
“We have security that takes care of those issues,” Shanahan said
