Running back Ryan Grant  will suit up for the Washington Redskins as they host the Atlanta Falcons today. Grant, a former Green Bay Packer, signed with the Redskins two weeks ago, but was inactive for his first game with the team — last week at Tampa Bay.

Grant had been through only three practices at the time. He said earlier this week that he felt more confident in the team’s offense and hoped to play. Alfred Morris will start and continue to handle the bulk of Washington’s running back duties, but Grant and Evan Royster are expected to split time as his backups.

Inactive for the Redskins are safety Brandon Meriweather (knee), cornerback Cedric Griffin (hamstring), quarterback Rex Grossman, guards Josh LeRibeus and Adam Gettis, receiver Dezmon Briscoe and linebacker Markus White.

The Redskins will start Josh Morgan at wide receiver opposite Pierre Garcon for a second straight week. Morgan and Leonard Hankerson have split time at that position this season. Receiver Aldrick Robinson returns to action after missing the last game following a pre-game collision with Meriweather.
