Linebacker London Fletcher is expected to be in the Washington Redskins’ lineup Sunday at Pittsburgh, barring a last-minute setback, a person familiar with the situation said Saturday night.
The person said Fletcher expected to play unless there was a late change in how he was feeling. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized by the team to publicly discuss Fletcher’s playing status.
Fletcher participated in the Redskins’ practice Friday after missing practices Wednesday and Thursday because of a hamstring injury and issues with his balance. The Redskins listed him as questionable on their official injury report.
Fletcher sat out the late stages of last Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium after hurting his hamstring. He then informed the team’s coaches Monday of the balance issues that he was experiencing, Coach Mike Shanahan said during the week. Fletcher underwent six to seven hours of testing with a neurologist Thursday, according to Shanahan.
Lorenzo Alexander was expected to start at Fletcher’s inside linebacker spot if Fletcher was unable to play.
