Robert Griffin III set to play Sunday against Philadelphia

Quarterback Robert Griffin III will return to the Redskins’ lineup Sunday at Philadelphia unless he suffers a setback before then, Coach Mike Shanahan said Thursday.

Shanahan said doctors believe Griffin’s injured right knee will be healed sufficiently for him to play against the Eagles unless he reinjures himself in practice.

“If there’s no setbacks, he should be ready to go,” Shanahan said. Griffin participated fully in Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices.

He missed last Sunday’s win at Cleveland because of a mild sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee.
