Redskins starting left guard Kory Lichtensteiger again was an observer as the Redskins began practice Friday. Hobbled by a sprained ankle suffered early in the second half of last Sunday’s game against Dallas, Lichtensteiger has not practiced all week.
During the portion of practice open to reporters on Friday, Lichtensteiger went through stretching, but wasn’t wearing a helmet, and watched individual drills.
The Redskins are prepared to start rookie Josh LeRibeus at left guard if Lichtensteiger can’t play. Coach Mike Shanahan said earlier this week that he expected that a decision on Lichtensteiger wouldn’t be made until Sunday.
