The Washington Redskins will open the 2013 preseason on the road against the Tennessee Titans. The team will then play back-to-back home games against Pittsburgh and Buffalo, and close out the preseason at Tampa Bay, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

The exact dates of the first, third and fourth games have yet to be determined, and the times haven’t been set yet, either.

The preseason opener, will take place between Thursday and Sunday, Aug. 8-11 and will air on NBC4 and Comcast SportsNet.

Washington will host Pittsburgh in an ESPN game on Monday, Aug. 19.

The Redskins host the Bills between Friday and Sunday, Aug. 23-25, in another game to be aired on NBC4 and Comcast SportsNet, and then will play at Tampa Bay between Thursday and Saturday, Aug. 29-31, also on NBC4/Comcast SportsNet.

The Redskins last season opened the preseason with back-to-back road games at Buffalo and Chicago. They then hosted the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to conclude the preseason. Washington went 3-1, with the lone loss coming to Chicago.

The regular season schedule, with dates and times for games, will be released later this month. However, the Redskins know they will host the Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers.

The Redskins also will play road games against the Denver Broncos, whom Shanahan coached from 1995-2008, the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and at Dallas, Philadelphia and New York.
