Robert Griffin III: Knee feels great, taking it slow

Passed on by Dave Sheinin and Sarah Kogod, Robert Griffin III reports that his injured right knee continues to feel good, but that he continues to remain patient during his rehab.

The quarterback briefly spoke to reporters after today’s luncheon that benefitted the American Cancer Society and recognized Tanya Snyder, the wife of Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, as the American Cancer Society Mother of the Year.

“I’m doing great,” Griffin said. “Knee feels fine. It’s about taking it slow. Each day is a better day.”

Griffin had his right knee reconstructed four months ago today. He and the Redskins remain optimistic that he will return by the start of the 2013 season. Details of his rehab have been kept under wraps.

Griffin used his star power to help raise money for the cause.

A pair of cleats that he autographed at the luncheon fetched a winning bid of $15,000.
