Will Redskins fans have more than nine wins to cheer this season? (Ricky Carioti/Washington Post)

It’s only May, but with schedules out and free agency and the draft in the rear-view mirror, is it too early to guess how well teams will do this coming season?

As reported by covers.com, the Atlantis Casino in Reno is the first to release NFL season win totals, so it isn’t too early for the bookmakers. The Redskins’ over/under is set at nine.

Pretty interesting place to put it. The Redskins were a 10-6 team last season, but they were 3-6 at the bye. Quarterback Robert Griffin III says he’s aiming to be ready for Week 1, but there’s no guarantee he will be, or he’ll be healthy for 16 games even if he does start Week 1.

Around the division, the Atlantis has the Giants at nine, the Cowboys at 8.5 and the Eagles at 6.5.

The Broncos and Packers are at 12, the highest in the respective conferences, with the Patriots and 49ers (11.5) and Texans and Seahawks (11) not far behind.

The lowest numbers are the Jaguars at 4.5, the Browns and Bills at 5 and the Cardinals, who we reviewed yesterday, at 6.

If you need to see the schedule to answer the question of whether the Redskins will win more than nine, now might be a good time to revist the Redskins’ Predictor, and cast your votes.

Also around the NFL, if you haven’t yet seen the Rick Maese and Sally Jenkins piece on former linebacker and standout citizen Reggie Williams and his post-career troubles with injury, please take a look. If you’ve been on the fence about ex-NFL players and their injury issues to date, perhaps you will not be any more. The photo gallery showing Williams’s knee and his one leg shorter than another, and the fact he had a post-NFL career with Disney and isn’t a guy looking for a handout, particularly brings the story home.
