The Washington Redskins have given no indication to quarterback Pat White at this point that they intend to re-sign him this week, according to a person familiar with the situation.

It’s not clear if such a move remains possible this week. But any plans the Redskins might have had to re-sign White could be complicated by the team’s still-uncertain place-kicking situation.

White has cleared waivers and is a free agent after being released Saturday by the Redskins. White made the Redskins’ roster as a fourth quarterback behind Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and Rex Grossman. But the Redskins released him Saturday when they signed kicker John Potter, who filled in for the injured Kai Forbath during the Redskins’ loss Sunday at Green Bay.

Potter remains on the Redskins’ roster at this point. Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday that Forbath probably will not test his injured groin muscle until Friday.

Potter missed his only field goal attempt during the 38-20 defeat to the Packers.

Shanahan said Monday that he thinks a lot of White, a former second-round draft choice by the Miami Dolphins who lasted played in an NFL regular season game in 2009. But Shanahan declined to say whether the Redskins would re-sign White this week.
