Week 3 of the NFL season brings us a much-anticipated Thursday night game between  the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, and while Andy Reid’s homecoming is a headline grabber, fantasy enthusiasts are more concerned with Michael Vick‘s climb among QB1s.

In Chip Kelly’s high volume offense, Vick has produced some big numbers, including 428 yards and three total touchdowns in Sunday’s 33-30 loss to San Diego.  Unless you’re other QB1 is named Rodgers, Brees or Peyton Manning, you should feel comfortable rolling with Vick this week and moving forward.

Vick appears to be well suited for Kelly’s offensive principles, and it just so happens his philosophy of pushing the pace is a fantasy owner’s dream scenario. I must admit I was skeptical it could work right away, but you can’t argue with the results so far.

Other fantasy tidbits this week:

1. What’s the deal with Roddy White?

White has been limited since opening day, and it doesn’t appear he’ll be at full health anytime soon. Until White has a game to put his health questions to rest, he should be downgraded to WR2. Start him, but temper greatly your expectations.

2. Is James Starks worth adding?

Certainly in the short-term, with starter Eddie Lacy apparently out for at least two more weeks. Starks isn’t going to provide numbers like last week regularly, but with the Packers’ grim situation in the back field, he’s going to get touches by default.

3. Sneaky start of the week: Nate Burleson

With Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush attracting most of the attention this week from Washington, Burleson has tremendous upside against the league’s flimsiest defense through two weeks. Consider Burleson a strong WR2 with potential for WR1 numbers.
