Rookie cornerback David Amerson said he felt “fine” and planned to participate in a portion of the Washington Redskins’ practice later Wednesday.

Amerson left Sunday night’s loss at Dallas after suffering a concussion. He is subject to the league’s procedures for treating players who suffer concussions and it is not known if he will be cleared to play this weekend against the Chicago Bears.

“We’ll see how it goes,” Amerson said. “I feel fine. I’m gonna practice. I’m gonna do a little something.”

It was not clear to what extent Amerson will participate in Wednesday’s practice. He said he is scheduled to be re-evaluated by doctors Thursday.

“I took one test so far,” Amerson said. “My score was low in one area and they want to re-test me on it, I think coming up tomorrow. But like I said, I feel fine.”

Amerson suffered the injury when he was blocked on a 90-yard kickoff return by the Cowboys.

“It was kind of like a schemed-up play,” Amerson said. “The guy came from the other side of the field. There’s really no way you can really see that coming unless you just happen to look back or anything like that. It’s part of the game. You just tough it up and move on.”

Amerson said he had not experienced concussion symptoms in recent days.

“Nothing like that,” he said. “So I’ve been very fortunate. …I think it was just more of I was just in shock. It was my first time ever really having a concussion. So I was kind of like woozy. But like I said, it wasn’t bad. I slept okay. I wasn’t too sensitive to light or anything like that. So everything was good. … It’s not pleasant, that’s for sure. Like I said, it was just more shocking that it happened. But it’s football and I’m good now.”
