Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said that he had a conversation with Dean Blandino, the NFL’s vice president of officiating regarding a number of matters, including Trent Williams’s incident involving official Roy Ellison.

Williams said that the official cursed him out during the first half of Sunday’s loss at Philadelphia, and Ellison reportedly has a history of such incidents.

It remains unclear if he will receive any punishment for his behavior.

The league has said that the investigation continues.

Shanahan said he couldn’t go into detail on his discussion with Blandino.

Williams, meanwhile, said that he hasn’t yet heard from any league representatives inquiring about the incident. Teammates Niles Paul and Kory Lichtensteiger, who flanked Williams at the time Ellison allegedly cursed at him, both said they hadn’t heard from the league either.

“I don’t expect to hear from them,” Williams said after practice. “They’re going to probably sweep it under the rug. That’s my opinion. But I’m over it. I’m focused on the 49ers right now, so that’s the end of it.”
