Redskins’ Jordan Reed ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Falcons

Tight end Jordan Reed will miss the Washington Redskins’ game Sunday at Atlanta, the team announced Saturday.

It will be the fourth straight game missed by Reed since he suffered a concussion during a Nov. 17 game at Philadelphia.

The Redskins downgraded Reed on their official injury report and announced he did not accompany the team to Atlanta. He had been listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Friday that Reed would undergo further testing Saturday.

Reed remains subject to the NFL’s protocol for the treatment of players who suffer concussions and must be cleared by an independent neurologist to practice and play.

Shanahan said Friday the team is leaving open the possibility that Reed will play again this season. The Redskins are 3-10 and will have two games left after they play the Falcons.
