The Redskins have signed defensive lineman/outside linebacker Everett Brown.

Brown fills the roster spot vacated by second-year pro Brandon Jenkins, who was waived on Sunday.

Brown played most recently with the Dallas Cowboys, but it’s had stints with Carolina, San Diego, Detroit and Philadelphia as well.

The 6-foot-1, 263-pound Brown played for Redskins outside linebackers coach Brian Baker with Carolina in 2009 and 2010.

Washington has outside linebackers Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan as starters, and Trent Murphy and Rob Jackson behind them. Adrian Robinson and Gabe Miller also are vying for roster spots at that position.
