Redskins add defensive end Jake McDonough

The Redskins have signed defensive end Jake McDonough to a contract, his agent, Glen Lansky said Wednesday afternoon.

McDonough had a workout with Washington earlier Wednesday and then signed his deal.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound McDonough went undrafted out of Iowa State and spent a portion of 2013 on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad and also played in the Arena Football League for the Portland Thunder.

It wasn’t immediately clear what roster move the Redskins made to create an opening for McDonough.
