Redskins rookie tackle Morgan Moses left Saturday night’s preseason loss in Baltimore with what is believed to be a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

It wasn’t yet known when or if Moses would have an MRI exam done on the knee, but the third-round pick said he would receive treatment on the knee on Sunday.

Moses suffered the injury late in the third quarter when he said he got rolled into. Trainers tended to him for several minutes, and then he walked slowly off the field on his own power, but limping. After the game, he still had a limp.

Moses on Saturday played right tackle on the second unit for the first time this preseason. He played backup left tackle the first two preseason games. But coaches wanted to evaluate his versatility. The team drafted Moses out of the University of Virginia with plans of grooming him as their long-term solution at right tackle.

Meanwhile, outside linebacker Brian Orakpo left the game with a mild ankle sprain. Orakpo’s injury was believed to have taken place during Washington’s second defensive series. It was believed to have been very minor, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. But Orkapo didn’t re-enter the game, as a precaution. Orakpo finished with one tackle and no quarterback pressures.

Cornerback Chase Minnifield left the game with a hamstring strain that he suffered in the second quarter.
