The Redskins announced they promoted rookie safety Akeem Davis from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
The team also cut backup safety Jamarca Sanford.
Davis appeared in four games earlier this season, playing almost exclusively on special teams. He recorded five tackles. Washington waived Davis on Oct. 7 and re-signed him to the practice squad the next day.
Sanford signed with Washington the final week of September and appeared in three games, playing primarily on special teams.
