The Redskins on Tuesday made a flurry of roster moves as they gear up for the final three games of the season.
To make room for those two, Washington waived linebackers Everette Brown and Steve Beauharnais. The Redskins also cut cornerback Greg Ducre.
And, Washington signed running back Michael Hill and linebacker Justin Jackson to their practice squad.
Williams originally signed to Washington’s practice squad on Dec. 2. A fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2013 out of Connecticut, Williams also had brief practice-squad stints with the Cardinals and Colts this season. The 6-foot-1, 237-pound outside linebacker has not appeared in a game in his brief NFL career.
Davis signed with Houston as an undrafted rookie out of Southern Methodist in 2013, but was released following the preseason and then signed with New England. The 6-foot, 238-pound Davis appeared in one game last season, and three for the Patriots this season before getting released on Oct. 22. Davis signed with Kansas City’s practice squad shortly after.
Brown had appeared in six games for Washington this season, recording eight tackles. The Redskins signed him after Brian Orakpo was lost for the season. He served as a backup to Ryan Kerrigan and Trent Murphy. Beauharnais had just gotten called up to the 53-man roster over the weekend.
Ducre played sparingly this season, seeing most of his action on special teams. But he did record an interception while pressed into duty on defense against San Francisco after veterans Tracy Porter and E.J. Biggers got hurt.
Hill went undrafted out of Missouri Western State in 2013 and had brief stints with the Chargers, Packers, Buccaneers, and Colts over the past two seasons. Hill appeared in two games for Green Bay in 2013 and six for Tampa Bay last season. He didn’t record a statistic for the Packers, but had nine carries for 23 yards and two catches for 23 yards for Tampa Bay. The 5-foot-10, 210-pounder has not appeared in a game this season.
Jackson went undrafted out of Wake Forest and has had brief practice-squad stints in Detroit, Minnesota and Cincinnati.
