Two weeks after holding a private workout for a group of NFL talent evaluators, Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday this week is expected to pay Redskins Park a visit to meet with general manager Scot McCloughan, coach Jay Gruden, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

The 6-foot-3, 204-pound Halliday, who is coming off of a season-ending injury and was unable to perform at the NFL Scouting Combine, is projected as a late-round draft pick.

During a appearance with ESPN 980, the team-owned radio station, on Saturday, Halliday announced that he had a visit scheduled with Washington, and a person familiar with the team’s plans confirmed the visit.

Halliday concluded his college career having thrown for a school-record 11,304 yards and 90 touchdowns in 35 games.

His most productive season came in in 2013, when he completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 4,597 yards and 34 touchdowns, but also threw 22 interceptions. In 2014, Halliday completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 3,873 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in nine games. A broken fibula and tibia ended his season prematurely.

Halliday’s recovery also prevented him from performing at Washington State’s pro day on April 1, but he held a private workout for 13 scouts, including McCloughan, days later.

Critics have speculated that Halliday could take a while to develop in the NFL because he has played in a spread system, operating almost exclusively out of the shotgun. His injury history also has raised concerns.
