One of our goals is to help readers increase their financial security. To do that, we’ll occasionally ask for your help, and this is one of those times.
We will limit financial information used in the story to just what’s necessary to make the situation clear. For instance, we might say, “Emma Smith has saved the equivalent of three years’ worth of her current salary in her 401(k) plan” rather than use the dollar figures.
We anticipate that many of our readers will see their own situations reflected in the situations of others and that the advice our volunteers receive will be broadly beneficial to many other readers.
If you’re willing to help, please contact us and tell us a little about yourself (age, family situation, job) and what you have done to ensure a decent income in retirement — even if it’s nothing — because you won’t be the only reader in that situation. We’ll talk to you further, and if we decide to use your story, we’ll put you with a financial expert who will provide you with advice about your situation.
