Have you bought your tickets yet? D.C. punk icon Ian MacKaye (Fugazi, Minor Threat) is playing with his partner Amy Farina (Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, the Warmers) in their softer but still sinister duo the Evens on Friday night.

Their too-rare hometown performances tend to draw large crowds, so pick up advance tickets from Smash RecordsJoint CustodyCrooked BeatCD Cellar, or Left Out Records while you can. Mark Jenkins reviewed the band's most recent record, "The Odds," in November, and MacKaye's lasting impact on D.C. will no doubt be on display at the Corcoran's upcoming "Pump Me Up: D.C. Subculture of the 1980s."

The show starts at 8 p.m. at St. Stephen's Church. Tickets are $5, and proceeds from the show, organized by Positive Force D.C., will benefit charities including We Are Family and the St. Stephen's building fund.

If you can't make it on Friday, you'll have to fly out to California to catch the Evens perform next. They're playing Coachella on April 13th and April 20th.
