Tidal Basin bound this weekend? Here’s a map of the cherry blossoms

Now that we're finally looking at some spring weather, the Tidal Basin promises to be a popular spot this weekend as the National Cherry Blossom Festival continues. Saturday marks the beginning of the National Park Service's revised peak bloom window, so things could really begin popping, so to speak, very soon. Not just blossoms, mind you, but camera phones: If you want your artful blossom snapshots to get the recognition they deserve, share them with #wpblossoms and they'll appear on The Post's pretty Cherry Blossoms Grid.

This weekend's big events include the Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival, the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler and the Japanese Stone Lantern Lighting. If you're headed down to look at the blossoms this weekend, this map should serve as your guide. Download a copy to your phone and you’ll be able to plot your blossom excursion more exactly.
