Doughnut. Muffin. (Alex Baldinger/The Washington Post) Doughnut. Muffin. (Alex Baldinger/The Washington Post)

"No, that's a muffin," you just said. You're so judgmental. In fact, what you're looking at is a doughnut shaped like a muffin.

Take doughnut batter, pour it into a cupcake mold, dust it with cinnamon and sugar and voila: the doughmuffin.

The doughmuffin comes from Bean & Bite (Full disclosure: Post employees get a 10 percent discount) and it tastes like a cinnamon-and-sugar cake doughnut you would dunk into a Styrofoam cup of coffee.

Texture-wise, it's closer to coffee cake, but you can still add it to the ever-growing list of doughnuts in town.
